Meet Coach Jakob: Grounded, Experienced & Always in Your Corner
His Credentials (Diploma of Fitness + Former Defence Force Physical Training Instructor)
His Core Promise (Making the journey less scary and more fun)
Jakob’s training style is understanding, approachable, and designed to make people feel comfortable, especially if you're new to structured fitness or returning after a break.
“I try to make it less daunting and more fun,” he says.
Whether he’s guiding a group through a high-energy session or working 1:1 with a guest, you can expect a calm, capable presence who knows exactly how to get you moving, safely and confidently.
From military training grounds to the sunny gym floors of Nova Fitness Retreat, Coach Jakob’s been immersed in fitness most of his life.
But it was his time as a Physical Training Instructor in the Defence Force that really shaped his approach: keep things clear, keep people moving, and support everyone; no matter where they’re starting from.
As he puts it, “It’s about making it less daunting and more fun.”
From Defence Force to Fitness Retreat
Before joining the Nova Fitness Retreat team, Jakob trained soldiers in the field; helping everyone from elite performers to first-timers push through physical and mental challenges.
Jakob’s background in the military shapes how he sees fitness: not just about performance, but also about mental strength, structure, and community. He credits the people he’s met along the way as the most defining part of his journey, coaches, clients, and teammates who showed him the power of connection through movement.
At Nova Fitness Retreat, Jakob brings that same attitude to every session: grounded, respectful, and quietly motivating. He doesn’t need to be loud — the results speak for themselves.
