Meet Coach Josie — Nova’s HYROX specialist, performance coach and confidence builder
Driven by a passion for performance and a mission to cut through the noise of diet culture, Josie brings energy, science-backed coaching and real-world experience to Nova. As a HYROX coach and three-time HYROX World Championship qualifier, she combines elite competition insight with an encouraging coaching style that pushes clients to discover strength and confidence they didn’t know they had.
What makes Josie’s approach unique is that her coaching philosophy comes not only from qualifications and competition, but from personal experience. After years navigating confusing diet advice, fitness fads and conflicting online messaging, Josie dedicated herself to learning what truly works for long-term health, performance and confidence.
Today, she helps others avoid those same pitfalls by focusing on sustainable training, strong nutrition foundations and building a positive relationship with fitness.

A journey that shaped her mission
Before becoming a coach, Josie spent years working in the corporate world within the health and nutrition industry. She began her career at Myprotein straight out of university, helping manage global campaigns and develop their athlete community. From there she worked with several major nutrition brands and large organisations.
But despite working in the industry, something felt missing.
Last year, Josie stepped away from the corporate world and spent time travelling, focusing on her mental and physical health while redefining what she wanted from life. That period of reflection led her to pursue coaching full time and ultimately brought her to Nova.
Her goal now is simple: help people build real strength, confidence and performance — without the pressure of unrealistic body ideals or short-term fixes.
A defining moment in competition
One of Josie’s proudest achievements came when she won HYROX Bangkok in the Pro category.
Competition had always intimidated her, and entering the race alone felt like a huge step outside her comfort zone. With encouragement from her training community in Bali, she decided to show up and give it her best.
What happened next surprised even her.
Not only did she finish the race — she won the entire women’s Pro category. Standing on the podium with the flag was a powerful moment that represented years of personal growth, hard work and rebuilding confidence.
For Josie, it wasn’t just a race win. It symbolised her shift from chasing aesthetics to embracing performance, strength and self-belief.
Coaching that pushes and empowers
Josie’s coaching style is energetic, motivating and grounded in science. She wants every session to leave people feeling accomplished, inspired and proud of the work they’ve done.
Her classes are designed to challenge people physically while building mental resilience and confidence along the way. She encourages clients to push themselves further than they thought possible, while creating an environment where everyone feels supported.
Whether someone is new to training or preparing for their first HYROX race, Josie meets them where they are and helps them level up.
What to expect in Josie’s sessions
Expect to sweat, work hard and surprise yourself.
Josie’s sessions bring together endurance, strength and race-style conditioning designed to improve speed, power and stamina. But just as importantly, they create a sense of community and shared achievement.
Clients can expect to leave feeling:
Stronger
Fitter
Faster
More confident
—and often with a new group of training partners cheering them on.
The moments that matter most
While Josie loves competition, some of her favourite moments as a coach come from watching beginners achieve something they once thought impossible.
Seeing someone walk into their first session saying they “can’t run” or “could never do HYROX,” and then watching them finish a workout red-faced, smiling and proud — that’s the moment she loves most.
Even better is when those same people go on to sign up for their first HYROX race because of the confidence they built through training.
Performance, community and enjoying the process
For Josie, fitness is about more than just the workout.
It’s about finishing a tough session together, grabbing a coffee or fresh coconut afterwards, sitting in the sunshine and enjoying that shared sense of accomplishment.
Training should challenge you — but it should also bring people together and make you feel alive.
At Nova, Josie isn’t just a coach leading workouts.
She’s the motivator pushing you to go further, the competitor who understands the journey, and the coach who helps you discover just how capable you really are.
